Description
A solid cherry one-board top is screwed to a drawer blade and two cross
stretchers dovetailed to the sides.  Solid cherry one-board sides with stiles
glued to the front, forming an inlayed champhered corners, are dovetailed to
the walnut bottom.  Cherry drawer blades are dovetailed to the sides.  A string
inlayed walnut frame forms the base for the horizontal grained French bracket
feet with a vertical support black and horizontal flanking blocks.  Rear brackets
on the back feet are poplar.  The champhered corners with stopped lambs
tongue have an inlayed panel with four string inlays.  The top edge has two
string inlays.  Solid cherry drawer fronts with string inlay, cock beading and
diamond key escuthcens are dovetailed to walnut sides.  Solid two-board
walnut bottoms, set in grooves in sides pass under walnut backs dovetailed to
the sides.  Walnut drawer supports are set in grooves in the sides and
tenoned in grove in drawer blade.  Walnut boards are nailed to rabbeted sides,
bottom, and cross stretcher with cut nails forming the back.

Old, slightly-crazed finish; replaced pulls; repairs to the feet, cracks in sides,
drawer sides, drawer blade fronts and cock beading; skirt is worn at bottom
edge some modern nails in back board.
