Description
The rounded end crest is hickory as are the seven spindles and two braces.  
The posts, legs and stretchers are maple.  The modeled shield-shaped seat,
with a groove surrounding the coffin-shaped extension is poplar.  The legs
continue throughout the seat and are wedged from above.  Old paint exists on
the extension and back of the seat; the tops and inner sides of the legs,
bottom stretchers and traces remain on spindles and braces.

Barnett used the following:
  • Plain rounded end scrolls which are large and high (1)
  • Chamfered edges on scrolls and seat extensions (1)
  • Chamfered back edge of seat (2)
  • Slightly concave post at the seat (2)
